Kristin's Rowing Background:

Kristin has been involved in the sport of rowing for over 30 years—as both a competitive athlete and a coach.  She rowed at Cornell University and then for the US National team in the double and the single from 2001 to 2003.

She has coached masters, youth, collegiate, and elite-level rowers, with a particular emphasis on sculling. Her work has primarily focused on youth athletes in the Southwest region, where her crews consistently medaled at Southwest Regionals and competed at Youth Nationals. They were known not just for their competitive results, but also for their strong technical form.

Over time, Kristin began to notice recurring injury patterns tied to certain rowing techniques, training drills, equipment setups, and load management within training programs. Drawing on her expertise as a physical therapist, she adapted her coaching methods to reduce injury risk while maintaining a high level of competitiveness.  Kristin believes injury prevention starts with the structure of the rowing program itself—and with coaches who intentionally guide, educate, and train their athletes with both performance and longevity in mind.

In her most recent coaching role as a technical director, she played a key part in designing a training approach for the program that emphasized sound rowing biomechanics, appropriate load management with equipment and fitness programs, and sustainable development.

Looking ahead, Kristin hopes to contribute more broadly to the sport—sharing her knowledge so that athletes can row fast, stay healthy, and develop lasting life skills.
